This unique collection of illustration work consists of several series: the first one depicts monsters of Bolshevik Revolution of 1917; the second, titled “The Kremlin Theatre of Absurd” is based on well-known books and drama plays that deal with the themes of dictatorship, the Soviet past and political oppression; another two are loosely based on the novel “Dragon” by Soviet writer Eugene Schwartz, and on the children’s classical poem “Cock The-Roach The Great” by Korney Chukovsky; the final series of posters, titled “GULAG” is dedicated to 50th anniversary of the first edition of “Archipelago Gulag” by Alexander Solzhenitsyn.

Igor Karash is an accomplished artist and designer, renowned for his contributions to contemporary illustration. Publications in Austria, the UK, and the USA named him one of the best illustrators in the world in 2012. This exhibition has received 3 Merit Awards from publication 3×3 Illustration. In January 2019, series In Red and Black: Monsters of Revolution was included into Society of Illustrators 61 Annual and exhibition of the winning illustration work.
